J! Content Administration, Menus & Modules

Extending on from JCC1, this course covers the creation and use of the standard Joomla! modules. It also covers the creation and use of menus for general and advanced purposes.

Schedule

The course is run 3 times a year or alternatively in-house training departments can arrange for the course to be run at a time that suites the organisations need (a minimum of 6 students required to run the course).

Course Syllabus

The course usually takes 1 full day and requires students to be uninterrupted during that time. Typically students should be ready to commence the course introduction at 0830 and be able to attend until 1630.

Breaks are provided at 1030 and 1500 for 10 minutes each.

Lunch is 30 minutes in duration and commences at 1230 — if the course is at a CPPL location then a light lunch and beverages will be supplied.

Course Requirements

As a pre-requisite the ability to use a web browser and a strong familiarity with Joomla! article creation and publishing concepts is required.

    1. understand the difference between Menus, menu items and menu modules
    2. create new menu and menu items
    3. have awareness of the standard menu item types
    4. know how to create shortcut URLs for sections of the website
    5. know how to structure menus to create new sections on a website
